The site has a unique way of engaging customers where the online market used to open on Friday morning till Sunday night for ordering. All orders received were collected, packed and hand delivered to customers between Tuesday to Thursday.It has three predefined options of baskets with facility to swap and add different produce, an artisan product or a seasonal treat.
A subscribe model was developed which would create a customized basket for users, based on past purchase, current fresh produce available and past purchases. An AI algorithm was developed to suggest users different products based on his past purchasing habits and quantity. Email reminders were sent to customers to confirm their baskets/orders subscription with option to skip or continue for that week. Every Thursday a new animation would be updated on the homepage to showcase an artisan product, a farm or any offer for the week. A comprehensive dashboard was developed to manage inventory, deliveries including basket labels, delivery routes, partners and analytics.
The site architecture was set up on AWS with Code Chef to auto deploy feature updates from Github. The database was hosted on Postgres with backend development in Ruby on Rails with Jinja templates.
